The cache is situated in an SSSI . Please, therefore, treat the area with respect and enjoy the scenery and wildlife of this unique location.
This is an adventurous cache in a dramatic location. Finding the cache does not involve any caving but the whole area around upper Ease Gill is a cavers paradise in normal weather conditions. The upper part of the Gill itself is normally dry but after periods of continuous heavy rain it floods in a very impressive way and when that happens you don't want to be caving, walking or caching anywhere near the Gill.
You can park at Bull Pot Farm and walk down along the cavers path. Alternatively you can park at Cowan Bridge and walk up to it. The cache is set high above the east bank of the Gill alongside the path of one of theclarkes' favourite local walks. On several ocassions we have noticed a hiding place that would make a great location for a cache. After sorting out the permission, here it is and we hope you enjoy the challenge. The difficulty is higher than average due to relatively poor reception at the cache location and the terrain is even higher as you do not want to slip near to the cache location.
Once you are near GZ, those of you with eagle eyes should be able to spot the hiding place. The cache is guarded by one or two stones, which should be replaced in order to prevent the cache container from being spotted from below.
