Part of a series of 9 caches celebrating the engineering
marvel
that is Coventry's ring road.
This Cache is on a public footpath and should be wheelchair
accessible.
Stealth will be required here when retrieving this magnetic
micro.
"Nine for mortal men doomed to die!"
With a plan to hide one micro cache per junction making nine
in
total, the line from Tolkein's riddle seemed an appropriate
name
for this series considering the driving style of some of the
ring
road's users.
Joking aside, Coventry's ring road is unusual in that it seems
to
quietly do it's job and lets you get from one side of the city
to
the other with the minimum of hold-ups (so long as you use it
properly).
For us locals it also provides amusement as we watch
"foreigners"
attempt to get to grips with it's idiosyncracies.
The caches in this series are placed within sight of the main
ring
road junctions.
Once you've found the cache, take some time to look around
the
local area here.
Very close to this cache you should be able to see the River
Sherbourne disappear on it's culverted journey through our
city
centre.
See the link below for a view of the underground journey it
takes,
but don't try to follow it yourself:
