Why?
‘cause that is where my big brother is going to
college!
About
Wyoming:
When we did the cache, I hadn’t been to Wyoming yet. I think
my Dad had been there before. But in August we all got in the van
and drove my brother to the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
And this is what I learned about Wyoming on our trip:
1) It’s wicked far from home! Took us 4 days to get there and
Dad said it was just over 2,300 miles (it might be shorter, but we
did lots of Earth Caches along the way.)
2) The town where the University is (Laramie) is pretty flat (OK,
really flat). But it’s pretty high 7,200 feet. That’s
almost twice as high as Mt. Mansfield!
3) It hardly ever rains here. QToad even told me he misses the
rain!
4) They have really tall dorms here. Big brother is on the 12th
floor! It’s a pretty view from up there!
5) Even if the town is pretty flat, you don’t have to go far
to get into some mountains. We did a cache at 10,000’ in
Snowy Pass
6) They have some really big rocks just 20 minutes from Laramie.
Looks like a giant played with them and then just left them laying
around!
7) They love the bucking horse symbol! It’s on EVERYTHING out
here!
8) We also ate at an awesome new restaurant! The Panda Express, too
bad we don’t have any around here.
Well, that’s about all I know about Wyoming. I hope my Dad
drives us out there again so we can do some more exploring! Then I
can add to the list of things I know about Wyoming!
About The
Cache
There were 2 things I knew right away when we visited "50 State =
50 Micros".
First I knew which state I wanted to take, and second - my cache
wasn’t going to be a micro! (Hope you don’t
mind.)
So today on our way out to Colchester Overlook, I placed my tribute
cache to Wyoming. It’s a nice .30cal ammo can painted in the
University colors. Hope you enjoy the hike and the hunt!
