Northern Star– Kaposia Cache to Eagle Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

broken tooth: A group of young muggles know where this is
and has been taking the container every
week. I'm sick of replacing them. This
opens the south- east side of the park for
someone.

Geocache Description:

From the partnership of an Eagle Scout candidate from Troop 95 (Bethesda Lutheran Church) and the City of South St. Paul Parks and Rec. department, this site has greatly benefited from their work. This Eagle Service project- The Lorraine Park- Fire Pit, included designing, building, and placement of the four wooden benches, as well as redesigning the fire pit itself. The fire pit at Lorraine Park in the past few years had become an eyesore to the park. The size of the fire ring is enormous and allowed for way too large of bonfires to occur there. Many times the fire department would have to come out and extinguish an out-of-control fire. Now with the smaller size ring and benches, the city hopes that families will have the opportunity to safely enjoy a nice fire. This project was constructed over a beautiful September weekend and is part of the "Cache to Eagle" series highlighting service projects conducted by Eagle Scout candidates. This series highlights Eagle Scout service projects in Kaposia District of the Northern Star Council, BSA. The placing of this cache is also part of the requirements for Geocaching Merit Badge. The Kaposia District includes scout troops in the communities of South St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights, Newport, West St. Paul, and Cottage Grove.
