Section west from Tunyuan to Tianchi Lodge (13.1km) is an easy and popular hiking trail, however, section east from "Spread light across the land" stele to Chilai Line Station (13km) is not in popular demand and more difficult than section west.

Kuailin Line Station (The old name is East Nanggeo Police Post) was built in 1945 as a police post and one of the designated lodging spots on the Nenggao Cross-ridge Historic Trail. It's a Japanese style cypress structure, the site below the ridge on the east of Nenggao North Peak (Mt. Nanhua), at an elevation of 2109 meters.
