Geocache Description:

[PL]

Jedno z najciekawszych i najladniejszych miejsc w korycie Rzyczanki. W ciagu ostatnich kilkudziesieciu lat z powodu kolejnych gwaltownych wezbran rzeki na dlugosci okolo 200m woda odslonila zloza czarnych lupków wieku kredowego - zaczely sie tworzyc ponad 100mln lat temu.

[ENG]

One of the most interesting and most beautiful places in Rzyczanka's river bed. In the last few tens of years during which a number of floods caused that water yielded seams of black shales that began to form over 100 milion years ago.water easily cuts trought layers of shale sculpting new cascades, hollows and so called - plunge pools. Last floodings especally concured in making the place even more attractive as in some places water in over 2 meters deep. shales are very fragile. Afrer eposing and drying they crack and fall into flat, little pieces. Their surface has rusty coating which suggest high content of iron. You can also find there the spherosiderites. They are harder than shales, consist of much more iron and they are ball shaped. Ages ago in some parts of Karpaty people smelt iron form it.

Cachespot is a part of educational path along Wieprzowka.
