Cody Creek On The Road To Almonte Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

alseaman: 690... posted the following log on 03/12/2016. "There was no sign of any cache at or near GZ. Replaced it for CO while on the way to Almonte. TFTC!".

This replacement was done without prior consultation with the CO, nor with his concurrence. We had some heavy dumps of snow this winter, and I suspect that the cache has been knocked off its perch and fallen to the ground as a result of the snow and snow plows. Since I have been seriously ill for some time, I admit to being a bit slow in doing a ground check.

As a result of that log, I visited the site today - there is still a bit of ice on the ground, and the cache may still be locked in this. However, since I am going to have to archive the cache shortly in any case, it seems best to do it now and get it over with.

The unofficial replacement cache has also been removed.

Cheers - alseaman

How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

A micro cache along the road to Almonte.

Cody Creek runs from a big swamp south east of the Old Almonte Road and meanders through varied farm land and finally empties into the Mississippi River somewhere between Galetta and Pakenham. The cache is located near the spot where it crosses under the road to Almonte.

Parking is available on the fairly wide shoulder of the road. It is a busy road so use caution. Avoid the morning and afternoon rush hour if possible.

This is a microcache suitably disguised to blend into its environment. Please replace it exactly as you found it. No pictures of the cache please. There is no room for a writing implement, so please bring your own. Tweezers may also help.
