Track-A-Bull Motel Traditional Geocache
thebanjo: Tx for the heads-up Norfolkbirder. Yes I'm afraid I have to confirm that the cache is gone, almost certainly because of and during the flash flooding experienced last week. Many houses in Cairns were inundated that had never had problems before, it rained so heavily those couple of days. I regret the loss of some really nice TB's and I apologise to their owners for my incorrect judgement of the security of the cache. I will not replace it at the current site (of course). A great shame as it was otherwise a very good TB Hotel site.

This cache has been established primarily to provide a convenient central location in Cairns for cachers (locals and visitors) to drop and pick-up trackables. Most urban caches are micro (or nano) and unsuited to TB swapping - or are fairly high in the muggle risk department and unsuitable for trackables because of that. And the best ones (with beaut views and bush walks and multi-stage puzzles) are visited very infrequently and trackables can grow old in them.
So - this cache is a 2 litre container, fairly centrally located, easy to get to and EASY to find, almost muggle-free, available 24/7, and stealth (although usually hardly required) should be easy. Hopefully it will be visited frequently with good TB and Geocoin turnover.
On the down side, it is a most uninteresting cache in respect of locale. Sorry, no uplifting bush walks, or views from the heights, or local history with this baby.
Catch a bus from the CBD to Stockland Shopping Centre. Get off at Ishmael Rd (tell the bus driver). Those self-driving, park at S16 56.511 E145 44.562. Perhaps best to approach the cache along and beside the row of coconut trees to avoid the CCTV camera which monitors the entry/exit gate on the self-storage building complex next door. Look where building's foundations change from solid in-ground to suspended (on posts). Cache container is on the inside lip of I-Beam. Please replace exactly as found.
I hope this cache will be of particular interest to visitors to our fair city who are short of time and need to quickly find an easy drop cache for their trackables (or want to pick up some - check occupancy) - OR - anyone just simply wanting to tick up another "found" in Far Nth Qld.
