Following a Beach Mission in 1912 it was decided to build a church in what was then commonly called Bungalow Town. The Church was built and, on 16 July 1913, it was dedicated by the Bishop of Chichester.
Despite its unremarkable appearance, it has a remarkable history, and has lead a charmed life.
In 1915 the "Prospect Film Company" built studios just to the north of the church. In 1922, they burnt down, but the church remained unscathed. In 1940, virtually every bungalow between Ferry Road and Widewater, was blown up. Again the church survived. In 1963, a request was made from the War Office that the church should be destroyed. Two officers came and found 14 servicemen inside, saying their prayers. The officers never returned.
Please try to take time to view the garden on the east side under the statue of Christ on the cross.
You are looking for a 60ml screw top container.
If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
