Geocache Description:

Every backcountry area must include a place to target shoot. For the Redmond Backcountry it’s the Interlake Rod & Gun Club aka the Interlake Sporting Association which owns and runs this 10-acre shooting range since it opened in 1950.



It may seem odd to have an outdoor shooting range in the City of Kirkland but not so much considering the city has grown around it over the decades. And still today the neighbors generally don’t mind the noise nor think there is a safety issue. In fact, they much prefer the range over development of the adjacent land into more housing.

The nearby trail to the south is one of many that provide access to the trails in the Redmond Backcountry. While this cache can most easily be reached from the road as a park and grab I’d suggest that it’s more adventurous to grab while touring the woods.

The Cache
A small container that only holds a log sheet so be sure to bring a pen to sign the log. Parking is available right next to the cache.
