The marina will busy this weekend with a Bass Fishing Tournament so expect parking to be bad, but there are a lot of garages and parking areas.
WWFM – World Wide Flash Mobs – A fun and friendly way to promote geocaching around the world. Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events spanning the globe, gathering at the same time.
These events have a basic set of rules:
1. Hold the event on the official, announced day, preferably at the official time
2. The event should last only 15 minutes
3. Take a group picture
4. Collect the number of people attended for statistical purposes
5. Be creative and Have fun! The event will last exactly 15 minutes, not one second longer.
The event will begin EXACTLY at: 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 4, 2011, and will end at EXACTLY 1:15 PM. You MUST be present and sign a log sheet DURING this time to claim the event.
12:45 – 12:59 p.m. Do not go anywhere near GZ. Do not talk to your fellow cachers. Just be a muggle and enjoy the scenery, go shopping, or grab yourself a bite to eat.
At 12:59 p.m. Make your way to GZ.
1:00 p.m. Meet at GZ. A log sheet will be issued. A “Container” will be present for coin and bug trades. You can mingle, talk about your favorite hides, or even plan a future caching trip.
1:10 p.m. Assemble for group photo. We have limited time here, so we have to get together FAST for the photo.
1:14 p.m. A ONE MINUTE WARNING will be issued for all trades and conversations to be wrapped up. Prize drawing!
1:15 p.m. Everyone leaves GZ. You are allowed talk to one another now, as long as you are not a GZ. There are caches all around the area.
You can come as a pirate, bring a parrot (real or stuffed), wear an eye-patch, have a wooden leg, or just as yourself. Just have fun with it.
There is lots of parking all around the event, but its pay parking (Even on the weekend).
