A micro sized cache in forest-island surrounded by fields.
Etäisyyttä Helsingin rautatieasemalle ja Helsinki-Vantaan lentoasemalle on alle 10 km, silti kymmenien hehtaarien pellot saavat kuvittelemaan olevansa maaseudulla.
Saarekkeen ympäristössä kaupungin omistamat pellot pidetään viljelykäytössä. Viljeltävät kasvit valitaan maisemallisin perustein: auringonkukka, rapsi, ruiskukka, ohra, vehnä, kaura ja ruis.
Merkittyinä aikoina ja merkityiltä pelloilta saavat myös kaupunkilaiset kerätä mm. kukkia, herneitä ja pellavaa. Osa pelloista tuottaa ravintoa Haltialan tilan karjalle.
Haltialan tilakeskuksen pelloilla voi nähdä mm. lehmiä, lampaita ja hevosia.
Läheisyydestä löytyvät Haltialan aarnimetsä, Niskalan arboretum ja Paloheinä golf.

Distance from the railway station in Helsinki and the Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport is less than 10 km, yet tens of hectares of arable land may be imagined in rural areas.
Island around the city-owned arable land is considered agricultural use. Of crops, the landscape is selected based on: sunflower, rapeseed, rye flower, barley, wheat, oats and rye.
Marked with the times and the importance of the fields are also local people to gather for instance. flowers, peas and flax. Some of the fields to produce food Haltiala farm livestock.
Haltiala center in the fields can be seen in cows, sheep and horses.
