Geocache Description:

This is a big ol' yellow cache in
honor of the book and film, Old Yeller.

1/21/2002: This park, part of the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area, now requires either a daily fee or a Northwest Forest Pass. Refer to the park signage at the main kiosk to obtain a digital or other pass. If you choose to park outside of the gate, be aware of the "No Parking" areas, which are enforced.

PLEASE DO NOT LOG A DNF IF YOU HAVE NOT REACHED THE CACHE COORDINATES AND ACTUALLY LOOKED FOR THE CONTAINER. If you simply decide not to brave the terrain to look for the cache because of downed trees or blackberries, please do not log a DNF. Reviewers who see several DNFs think that the container is gone and they require that I quickly check on the cache or they will archive it.

I have added a waypoint to make it easier to get to the container. Do not approach from the east, rather, approach from the waypoint listed (north entry).

Team What Trail (Annabellesmonkey!, Devil Hunter, Mtribe, Nogs, QOW, and Verano) decided that our geocaching friends need to visit the 1500 acre dog park in Troutdale for some new dog-themed caches. These caches join many other great ones already in the park. Note that the dog park is only open during daylight hours.

Old Yeller is a 1956 children's novel by Fred Gipson. The title is taken from the name of the big yellow dog who is the center of the book's story.

The cache should be an easy find!
