Geocache Description:

You are looking for a nano near the current Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant. Beware that this is a very muggle-intense area.  Practice your muggle-deception tricks such as fake shoe tying. BYOP

Jean-Georges Vongerichten

Jean-Georges Vongerichten (often referred to as just Jean-George for obvious reasons) was born in Alsace, France in 1956. While in France, he trained under chefs Paul Haeberlin, Paul Bocuse, and Louis Outhier. Between 1980 and 1985, he opened 10 restaurants around the world, including the Oriental Hotel in Bangkok, the Meridien Hotel in Singapore, and the Mandarin Hotel in Hong Kong.

In 1985, Jean-Georges came to America opening the Le Marquis de Lafayette restaurant in Boston, which has since closed. A year later he arrived in New York to take over the executive Chef position at Lafayette and followed that with the opening of JoJo, Vong, and Jean Georges restaurants. Jean Georges Restaurant remains one of five restaurants in the New York City awarded three stars by the Michelin Guide.

After many successful restaurant openings across the United States, Jean-Georges returned to Boston in late 2009 to open Market in the new W Hotel.
