Congratulations to Long Drive Daddy on the 1ST to find or as Guillaume LéChevalier would say,
Félicitations à Long Drive Daddy sur la 1ST pour trouver

My Name is Guillaume LéChevalier. I left France four years ago just before my sixteenth birthday.
I was headed for the new world, Ville dé Quebec in New France (Canada).
After my ten week voyage I was to spend three years as an indentured servant to a merchant to pay for my passage.
Upon fulfilling my obligation I made a decision to become a coureurs de bois, hunting and trapping to make my fortune.
After a year I took the hides to Fort Pontchartrain dú Detroit. I had quite a hefty load, consisting of Ermine, Fox and Beaver hides.
Unfortunately the fort was very low on supplies; I was offered a generous amount of French and New France coinage in exchange.
I was very hesitant to take this offer what good was gold and silver going to do me in the forest?
Then I overheard several soldiers talking about all the supplies going to the newly established Fort St Philippe.
I had heard of this outpost on the western edge of the Great Black Swamp and having nothing to lose and needing supplies my mind raced. From here I could go south down the Detroit river then follow the western edge of Lake Erie to Miami dú lac up the Miami river to my destination of Fort St Philippe.
I accepted the coinage and prepared to start my voyage. As I was talking to the merchant about my plans he warned me of recent attacks from Mascouten war parties.
I left at sunrise the next morning. As I walked along the edge of the Detroit River the silence was broken by the sudden scream of a native scout off in the distance, suddenly an arrow went zipping by my head.
Luckily my load was not nearly as large as the one I had come with. Thus making my escape from the Mascouten war party easier.
To elude the savages I headed up the River Rouge. Planning to continue on my original route after they were gone. Now I realize they are determined to find me so I am hiding my cache in hopes of returning to recover it later.
My sack contains gold Louis dór, silver Louis dárgent, and Thirty Denier pieces called Mousquetaire’s by soldiers in the fort. Along with a few personal items.
My hopes in writing this letter is if I am found by the Mascoutens someone will know what happened to me and say a prayer for my soul.
Guillaume LéChevalier.

Good luck and have fun, there is a Jefferson for the 1ST to find this well camouflaged and well stocked one gallon screw cap plastic jar.
Please be sure to screw cap back on tightly and return cache as found.
Muggles should not be a problem but caution still should be observed.
