Continuing the UK Mega Event's Geocaching Tour of the United Kingdom, it's the turn of the North West of England to welcome everyone to The UK's Fifth Annual Mega Event.
When?
Saturday 11th August 2012
10am till 4pm
then
4pm till 10pm (in the campsite)
Where?
We invite you to visit beautiful Cartmel Racecourse situated on the edge of the historic village of Cartmel in the beautiful South Lakes Peninsula.
But its not just the stunning scenery that's on offer..... from vibrant cities and busy market towns to sleepy villages and hidden hamlets, wild and majestic moors and mountains to rivers and canals ..... and then the ever changing coastline ....... England's North West is full of surprises.

Driving Directions
Please do not aim for the event coords on your Car Sat Nav, as this may take you on the narrow village roads. Use postcode LA11 7SE which will take you to the vehicle entrance.
The event will be signposted by Yellow AA Road Signs.
Why Cartmel?
Well.... it is the home of the world famous Sticky Toffee Pudding and there's plenty of things for the cacher and non-cacher to enjoy.
What's on...
At the main event, we are planning a range of countryside themed stalls and activities, the ever popular geo-talks and, as a bonus..... the possibility of soaking a Reviewer - something we're sure will be welcomed by everyone who's ever had a cache submission returned!!
There will also be a range of supporting events in the area in the week leading up to and after the event - fancy Picnicking on the Pike, or taking part in a Bat Walk? These events culminate in a guided walk across Morecambe Bay led by the Queens Guide, Cedric Robinson MBE (tides permitting).
We want this event to have a real country fair feel, with something for everyone, cachers - non cachers, kids and dogs and we can't wait to welcome you to experience some of the best the five North West counties can offer you.
We look forward to meeting you in Cartmel.

Camping Event
No Mega Event would be complete without a Camping Event alongside it; and this year we are camping within sight of the Mega venue!
Being on a racecourse gives us a golden opportunity for a bit of horse related fun and games, so saddle up and head on over to the Mega Rodeo
Supporting Events
We have on offer a wide range of Supporting Events, starting the weekend prior to the Mega Event. From traditional social events, to long hikes and short strolls, we should have something to suit all tastes.
View the bookmark list of all events or check out the printable event program. Don't forget to check the website regularly for all the latest updates.
Event Registration
As with any Event of this size, we are asking you to register your interest on our website, as well as on this listing.
Registering with us ensures we can keep you up to date with the latest news, helps us plan the event to suit our attendees, and most importantly, gives us a more accurate number of attendees than this listing page.
