It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there, so
bring yourself and your geo-dog to GZ between 1:00 p.m. and
5:00 p.m. for a dog-gone good time. Come. Sit. Stay. And
have some hot-dogs and some geo-fun at Bay Area Park with
everyone! We’ll feed you and your pooch hot dogs fresh from
the grill. We’ll have plenty of ketchup, mustard, relish,
cheese slices, (see announcement at top of cache page}
and ice-cold beer bottled water.
You are welcome (and encouraged!) to
contribute to the festivities by bringing something good to share
at the event. Humans like soda, tea, potato chips, salad,
potato and/or macaroni salad, baked beans, veggie trays, chips
& salsa, creamy jalapeno dip from Chuy's, dips, rolls,
desserts, etc.
Canines like milk bones, rawhide chews, squeaky toys, and
other doggie treats, and generally like or are not picky about any
of the food items mentined above, either.
BRING SOME CHAIRS FOR HUMAN
ATTENDEES
AS PICNIC TABLE SEATING WILL BE LIMITED!
The Dog Park
OK - althrough there are ball fields here, it's not a baseball
stadium like the photo above. But we've got the hot dogs, and Bay
Area Park has an awesome dog park! You’ll pass it on your
left entering the park as you travel towards GZ for the event. You
may want to mark this spot. But don’t worry – if you
don’t, your dog will.
Bay Area Park's dog park is 5.3 acres with a separate small dog
area, drinking water stations in each dog area, two doggy wash
stations in the front, shade, and benches. Your dog(s) can come and
play, get all dirty, and you can hose them off right there! Same
goes for you!
Wait – you don’t have a geo-dog?
Just bring yourself, your kids, your family, and/or other caching
friends (except cats---sorry) and come hang out! The park has
playground equipment between the dog park and the event site. At
least one tandem kayak will be available for
local paddling
as well (sure, bring your brave geodog). We'll see if we can get a
few more rounded up, too.
So here’s the deal (rules):
The park is open 7am – 10pm.
No alcohol is allowed in the
park. Please don’t get us in trouble by bringing any. All
pets must be on a leash, except when in the dog park. Oh, and scoop
your poop. And your dog’s.
Did we mention no cats are allowed? Sorry!

We had a blast at last year's event! Check out the gallery of
photos from last year's event page.
Dog-Eat-Dog: A Butt-Sniffin' Geo-Dog
Event! If you missed it, you missed a truly great
time.
This year, though, there's no hoopla. We're keeping it lax. We're
getting together, grilling hot dogs, and having fun playing with
the geodogs.
We will head over to the dog park after grill-time and see if any
of these 'highly trained' geodogs can sit-and-stay or have any
other special or unique tricks. When we come back, we'll let people
show off their own tricks. Nebulus703, we need you to kick this off
again. No official contests this time. But maybe a
few door
prizes towards the end. So chill at GZ, and spend as much time in
the dog park as you (and your geodog) desire -- and just have
fun.
Schedule of Events: Wait
-- there is no schedule of events!
But we will start grilling
hot dogs around 1:30 p.m. or so. (Not now -- due to burn
ban -- see notice at top of cach page). Just depends. Keeping it
flexible, 'cause we're not on a schedule. Anyone up for a
hotdog eating contest (humans, not dogs)?
We will have a few event tags available for the
first to arrive who did not get one last year.
The cool tag art was designed by
VoodoochickencupcakebettydrapernicolepeteDwayneMichaelCarrie a/k/a
Betty Draper (does that cover all bases?).
Bring your dogs, your side
dishes, and join us for some fun!
Brought to you by the
K-9 Krew: bbqbob2, Betty Draper, cachestacker,
FunSize03, ggmorton (Salt Shaker), and no
muggle.
HOW TO LOG SO WE CAN
PLAN: In your log, please let us know the
number of humans attending and the number and name of
your geodogs that are attending.
You could also share with the world the wonderful foodstuffs
you are bringing to share. If your canine is trackable, be sure to
drop him or her in the event, too! And don't forget your bugs and
coins to trade.
