Geocache Description:

Bailey and BC enjoy the wildflowers atop Tumalo Mtn. this time of year, and enjoy poking through the melted glass that results from lightning strikes on this old tower base. Small items.

The hike up on the trail is about one hour, and offers stunning views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. Notation from the Ray Kresek book, "Fire Lookouts of the Northwest", 7,775 ft elevation, Alidade Stump 1913; 1930's, 2 story L-4 cabin. Destroyed 1970's. The nearby Mt. Bachelor R-5 cabin (1922) was abandoned in 1939.
