I have received permission from the Director of Silver County Lake Nature Center (Which owns the delhaas woods) to place this cache. You are looking for a regular sized ammo can filled with goodies for the kids. No need to go off the path, or ever bushwhack, nor should you. The wonderful people of BSA decided to clean up this area. When I hid the cache it was *filthy!* bring a bag with you, let's keep it clean!
This cache is very dog and kid friendly, bring them both! The difficulty 2 is because of the long walk through the woods. At least a mile, possibly two. Now to the good stuff... There is plenty to do here, the best parking spot (Right across the street from the trail into the delhaas woods) is the Silver County Lake Nature Center, inside is a free mini-museum, and a nice little gift shop. Bring the kids, the exhibits are all interactive! Also in the parking lot is a nice little garden, plenty of flowers, birds, and bees (Don't worry, they are honey bees!) are here for your enjoyment! Afterwards you should make your way into the Delhaas Woods. From here, it's up to you to make your way through the park. There are plenty of trails that spin around, but rest assured you will reach the area eventually! You may have to walk up the powerlines to get to the next trail. Make sure the check out the two old military bunkers in the woods (WW2 era). Once you reach the GZ the cache is within feet of the trail. No need to really leave it. The cache is filled with goodies, make sure to trade for them! Afterwords you might want to take a short walk over to the wall you see in the distance between the trees and CITO the area. I hope you enjoy the cache!
