What: SE IOWA 11-11-11 Geocaching Event [including geocaching, eating, sharing stories, and a geocoin/pathtag/travel bug swap meet]!
When: 06:11:11 p.m. – 11:11:11 p.m (or until the last cache is found)
Where: Pizza Ranch, Oskaloosa, IA 124 High Ave W, Oskaloosa, IA 52577 [N41° 17.714' W92° 38.767']
Why: to celebrate 11-11-11 (along with @52 world-wide events)
This is a global multi-event occurring on the same day here and in many other locations world-wide!
Theme: Bring or wear something related to the number of 11. There will be a prize for the most creative costume.
***SPECIAL: A SE IOWA Limited Edition event-specific geocoin has been minted to commemorate the event.
The coin is trackable on GC.com with a unique icon (tracking number is engraved along the edge of the coin), and will be finished in shiny gold with translucent and hard enamels. When the coins arrive, we will post a picture (initial rendering below).
Coin Artwork: Hawkeye/Cyclone colors! - see photo gallery [unfortunately the artwork does not do the coin justice]. The metal finish is Polished Gold.
Initially, the SE Iowa Limited Edition Event coin will only be available to attendees at the event (one per adult attender). Price: $12.00 -- PICTURES BELOW
The SE Iowa Event coin was strictly limited to a minting of just 100 coins but only 78 are available for sale (21 coins are entered in a coin trading option; one coin will be entered as a door prize at the event).
Because this is a limited edition coin, we are limiting them to one (1) per adult attender.
If attending the event, you may reserve your coin in your "will attend" log.
Judging from past years, these multi-event geocoins are highly sought after and very collectible.
If the coins do not sell out, they will be for sale to the other interested parties; a waiting list will be generated by emailing me through my profile.
