Geocache Description:

I sognet ligger hovedkvarteret for Danfoss-koncernen.

Det gamle Havnbjerg
Havnbjerg består af to klart afgrænsede dele.

English:

Havnbjergs name
Previously the form was Hagen Mountain. "Hagen," the man called Hakon or Haghni. "Mountain" refers to the local mill hill, which with its 49 meters is the second highest point on Als. In the parish is the headquarters of the Danfoss Group.

The old Havnbjerg
Havnbjerg consists of two clearly defined parts. North of highway between Nordborg and Sønderborg is the old Havnbjerg - the old village, which still houses in town, where houses with few exceptions, from before the second World War II.

The new Havnbjerg
South of the highway are all the new neighborhoods, as in this case was built from about 1950-1990, although there also are some exceptions: The church and vicarage, the Old Port Mill Mountain and the old school are much older.
The oldest of the new district is around Havnbjerg School which was built in the 1950s. The 1960s were by and large non-profit housing Danboparken included 17 three-storey blocks with a total of 459 apartments. Around Danboparken was built cooperative housing, called Danfoss houses which were detached houses, as Danfoss employees could rent, and finally a large suburbs, which officially became known Havnbjerg South. In the vernacular, the area was called Currencies hump, a term from the years after 1945, which signaled the overuse, so that here lived a little more prosperous.
By Danboparken was also around 1970 built a mall with a supermarket, various specialty shops, a service station, two pubs, two banks and some professions. Today, banks, petrol station and specialty shops away. By contrast, built a new discount store.
As a result of continuing difficulties in renting apartments in multi-storey buildings are part of the 3-storey blocks in Danboparken been partially torn down and now appears with a single storey.
