How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Generally, the whole area drains very well, being so sandy, however after lots of rain there will be muddy areas depending where within the forest you decide to walk.
There is plenty of parking at The Lookout [Grid. Ref. SU E8755 N6590], providing you are early enough and bring some money as from September 2012 parking charges have been introduced.

The Lookout is perfect for all the family.
You no longer need a permit to cycle in forest, opening times can be found on their website The Lookout website.

Terrain

There are many large, well-maintained paths throughout the forest. Some of the terrain is hilly, and some areas get wet and muddy in winter.

You no longer need a permit to cycle in Swinley Forest. Cycling is only permitted in marked areas - there are some purpose-built tracks throughout the forest. You can also hire mountain bikes at The Lookout, best to call first to check availability and opening times..
