Erosão é a destruição do solo e das rochas e seu transporte, em geral feito pela água da chuva, pelo vento ou, ainda, pela ação do gelo, quando expande o material no qual se infiltra a água congelada. A erosão destrói as estruturas (areias, argilas, óxidos e húmus) que compõem o solo. Estas são transportados para as partes mais baixas dos relevos e em geral vão assorear cursos d'água.
A erosão é um problema muito sério, devem ser adaptadas práticas de conservação de solo para minimizar o problema.
Em solos cobertos pela vegetação a erosão é muito pequena e quase inexistente, mas é um processo natural sempre presente e importante para a formação dos relevos. O problema ocorre quando o homem destrói as vegetações, para uso agrícola e deixa o solo exposto, porque a erosão torna-se severa, e pode levar a desertificação.
Neste caso em concreto pode originar formar que se assemelham a... várias coisas.
A CACHE
O objectivo desta cache é encontrar um pedra com um perfil engraçado. Para chegar ao sítio terá de fazer uma caminhada de menos de 2km mas que será sempre a subir.
Para validar esta cache terá de responder às questões:
1-Com o que é que se parece o perfil?
2-Considerando a zona envolvida e a zona da cache a que tipo de erosão foi submetida?
A zona do GZ é onde poderá observar melhor o seu perfil.

Erosion is the process by which material is removed from a region of the Earth surface. It can occur by weathering and transport of solids (sediment, soil, rock and other particles) in the natural environment, and leads to the deposition of these materials elsewhere. It usually occurs due to transport by wind, water, or ice; by down-slope creep of soil and other material under the force of gravity; or by living organisms, such as burrowing animals, in the case of bioerosion.
Although erosion is a natural process human land use policies also have an effect on erosion, especially industrial agriculture, deforestation, and urban sprawl.[1][2] Land that is used for industrial agriculture generally experiences a significantly greater rate of erosion than that of land under natural vegetation, or land used for sustainable agricultural practices. This is particularly true if tillage is used, which reduces vegetation cover on the surface of the soil and disturbs both soil structure and plant roots that would otherwise hold the soil in place. However, improved land use practices can limit erosion, using techniques such as terrace-building, no-till, and tree planting.
A certain amount of erosion is natural and, in fact, healthy for the ecosystem. For example, gravels continuously move downstream in watercourses. Excessive erosion, however, causes serious problems, such as receiving water sedimentation, ecosystem damage and outright loss of soil.
Erosion is distinguished from weathering, which is the process of chemical or physical breakdown of the minerals in the rocks. The two processes may occur concurrently, however.
The CACHE
The purpose of this cache is to find a stone with a funny profile. To reach the site have to do a walk of less than 2 km but that is always up.
To validate this cache will have to answer the questions:
1-What does the profile looks like?
2-Considering the cache area, what type of erosion was the cache submitted?
The GZ zone is where you can watch better the profile.
