Geocache Description:

Cornwall's first 100 plus cache series. There's a fair mix of
footpaths and very minor roads - with quite a lot of up and down
sections. Dogs should be no problem, buggies/prams and wheelchairs
will struggle - lots. Some stunning views so bring a camera. There
are several stiles on the way round.

Mr Choughly  The Choughly Saint's HALO Cache Series

It’s based on parts of “The Saints Way”, a circuit of some 22 miles, taking in coastline, moorland, a tor and a selection of delightful towns and villages - with many spots to stop for tea or if you’re that way inclined there’s a lovely selection of fine Cornish Pubs on the way round.

Cache Name HALO - St Colanus
Cache Comments Take care with this roadside cache. St Blazey was once dominated by the local mining industries and their associated transport infrastructure. Historically, copper and tin were mined in and around the parish, whilst more recently china clay has been the principal commodity mined. The port of Par, which lies within the parish, was developed to ease the transport of these minerals, and initially connected to the mines by the Par Canal. The Par Canal was soon replaced by the Cornwall Minerals Railway, which had a depot and station in the town, and still exists as part of the Atlantic Coast Line. Whilst St Blazey depot is still in use, St Blazey station closed to passengers in 1925, and the town is now served by Par station on the Cornish Main Line in Par village.
Parking & Shops Parking located nearby in a layby by the junction with the road to Luxulyan Valley around N50 21.937 W004 43.552.

Lucky Chough Contest

If you're lucky enough to find a small, lovingly handcrafted chough in any of the caches, then you could be lucky enough to win one of a very limited number of the 2008 Cornish Geocoin in an Antique Bronze finish. Just Email Choughly, and you'll be entered into his lucky draw to win the coin.

General HALO Information
