Steere Hill: Quartz Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nerves: The cc was there but the cover is missing and something chewed up a corner. The area has gotten so overgrown and unrecognizable that you can't even see the beautiful field of quartz stones. So, it looks like this one will be archived.

Geocache Description:

The Melody Hill Golf Course does not allow geocachers to park in their parking lot or to cross their property to access area geocaches. Parked cars are subject to being towed.

From the Steere Hill parking area follow the white dot Field Trail.

Multiple white (probably quartz) rocks dot the landscape near the stone wall and there are small piles west of the cache. Quartz rocks were sometimes used to mark corner boundaries years ago but were also used as "death related piles". The death related piles were sometimes created to memorialize a past event or important person.

Kindly leave the rocks as they are.

Cache is nowhere near the ancient rock wall.

Although hunting is not allowed here I recommend you WEAR ORANGE because hunters have been seen at Steere Hill.
