Calling all geocachers to this one time, fun, exciting, unique event! We are pulling out all the stops to welcome geocachers to Hilliard, Ohio.
We invite everyone to attend Explore the Heart of Hilliard in 200 Minutes! Destination Hilliard received a large grant to have artists create 20 art boxes that will contain a journal and artist stamp for Geocaching. These works of art will be placed in 20 locations throughout Hilliard. Locations of the works of art were selected based upon the 200th Birthday theme of Columbus - honoring the past, celebrating the present and envisioning the future. The first 200 individuals to find all 20 caches will receive a prize worth 200 cents. Every person who finds the caches will be entered into a drawing for a gift basket filled with gift cards valued at $200. The grand prize will be drawn on December 31st. It's a very rare occurrence that a community receives funding through a grant for a geocache event!
Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Historical Village at Weaver Park next to the fairgrounds, 4100 Columbia, Hilliard, Ohio. The event will include:
9:00am - Registration, Geocaching 101 session and Geocache vendors on the front porch of the museum. Look for the "Welcome Geocachers!" sign.
10:00am - Geocachers will depart in waves with a passport to complete all 20 permanent geocaches with 20 artists stamps.
2:00pm - All geocachers must submit completed passports by this time for award eligibility.
We have the support of local authorities for this event!
