Another year has rolled around and its time for the annual
Illawarra/South Coast Get-together. This event is now in its 6th
year and if the size of past years is any indication, this years
event will be just as much fun.
If you're a season geocacher or a new geocacher, come along and
join us for a picnic in the park. Don't be shy, many good
friendships have been forged as a result of these fun days, nobody
cares about how many caches you have or haven't done. Its all about
getting to know one-another, sharing a caching tale or swapping a
traveller. There'll be plenty of geocachers on hand to offer advise
on different devices, hides or techniques.
The day is BYO everything so don't forget your GPS, lunch &
a chair. We'll see you at the posted co-ords from approx 10:30am
onwards. The park offers good facilities (large undercover area,
kids playground, BBQ facilities and toilets). The park is very
close to the beach so pack your swimmers and a towel. Alternatively
there are over 250 caches within a 20km radius of the event, so
come and spend the day in the Illawarra.
Please post a note to say if you'll be attending, bring the
whole family and we look forward to seeing you there.
How to get there: Dawes Park is situated in Barrack Point. The
easiest way to get to GZ is to turn off Shellharbour Rd into
Barrack Ave, follow this to the end. Turn left onto Junction Rd,
the park will be on your left.
