Go down there and survey the damage. Reports of what progress (or not) is being made are welcome in your logs.
My thanks to Master Mariner who was very quick to provide the required information to keep this cache going. It was my own tardiness that has kept it disabled for too long.
As you may have seen in the news the historic tea clipper, The Cutty Sark was severely damaged by fire in the early hours of 21st May 2007. The ship was the subject of this virtual cache and had been visited and logged by geocachers from around the world.
My first reaction was of total dismay and I archived the cache (too hastily). However I have been contacted by the Cutty Sark Trust who were in the process of restoring the ship. They are determinted that the ship WILL be restored, albeit on a much longer timescale and with a much higher cost. They asked if I could keep the cache going to help with the public awareness of the restoration plans in future months and years.
We are fortunate to have a great team of cache reviewers in the UK who immediately unarchived the cache. With the help of my caching friend "Master Mariner" we will have a new confirmation question on this page in the next few days when he can get close to the site. At that time the cache will go "live" again, so watch this space....
In the meantime please visit the website of the Cutty Sark Trust for the latest news and information.

What you will find here is an object that started its life in Dumbarton in Scotland not too far from my birthplace. It has been at this location for nearly 50 years and is an impressive sight. Leave yourself an hour to look around and afterwards you can explore the nearby park and find the other virtual cache in the area.
Have fun. We did.
