Please refer to Lightning Strike #1 GC3C03C for the background to this cache.
As this is the final lightning strike cache, Flash, Boom and I thought it would be good to change things up a bit. One thing new is that the cache container has a combination lock on it, so remember to bring the numbers. Another difference is that the LS#4 location is presented in relationship to the first three strikes rather than to Flash and Boom's locations during the storm. The last thing different is that the acceptable error in Geocheck is less than for the others. This shouldn't present a problem since Fizzycalc, even using "Rhumb Line" instead of "High Accuracy", gives results for LS#4 that are closer than 3 meters. Using "exact" solutions for the previous caches will minimize error.
Flash, Boom and I hope that LS#4 wraps up the lightning strike series in a satisfying way. We sure had a lot of fun.
Information needed to find LS#4:
The time for thunder from LS#2 to reach LS#4 was 5.579 seconds. The time for thunder from LS#3 to reach LS#4 was 10.423 seconds. The time for thunder from LS#1 to reach LS#4 was more than 7 seconds.
Check your answer with Geocheck. Parking, trailhead, and hint will display with the solution.
