Butttercup: I feel that the time has come to archive this cache - as outlined earlier in the year due to the archival of the original travelling YOSM cache.

I will remove the cache when next out and about in the area (if I can find it that is!) and thank all those who visited.

I suspect someone will place a challenge cache in the future based on the memorial YOSM cache.

Geocache Description:

Like other "challenge" type caches, this cache IS at the listed co-ordinates but in order to claim your find, not only do you have to visit and find it, you also need to meet the criteria detailed below based on our Ye Ole Survey Monuments "YOSM" (GC45CC) challenge.

The Butttercup & Stormystorm YOSM Challenge:

Saturday 1st June 2013 saw the first day of our holiday to Somerset, but rather than take the direct route we spent hours and hours planning and perfecting the route for the day - happily we met our steep (!) challenge - despite one of us forgetting to set the alarm and made 20 cache finds that day - 3 traditional, 1 letterbox and 16 (yes, SIXTEEN) virtuals. Of these 16 virtuals 15 of them were YOSMs and we both were able to log 15 YOSM cache finds for that day - beating the previous national best by 3.

Fear not, you do not have to find 15 in a day to claim this cache but we ask you to have a minimum of:

~ 5 YOSM logged finds, with at least 2 logged finds on the same day ~

Please list your YOSM finds in your find log, good luck. You are looking for a camoflaged tube with logsheet only. Within 4m of the cache location is TP0619, a FBM (Fundamental Benchmark) - just in case you want to log it on the trigpointinguk website!

Of course, we now look forward to hearing of your YOSM challenges and expect our flimsy record to be broken any day soon - if you do something like we did then just enjoy your day - we certainly did!
