Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the old abandoned Cedar Rustic Forest Service campground. It has been gone for years, but the paved road remains open. So, don't park on the highway, drive on in and make the loop. Great spot to let the kids and dogs romp around too!

Container has room for trade items and a log book.

History of campground complements of RangerPhil: in the 1980's the campground became infected with Port Orford Cedar root disease which wiped out a bunch of old growth cedar. It was shut down to study the longevity of the disease spores in the soil. When that was over, the water system was substandard and it wasn't cost effective to replace it.
