Geocache Description:

Bacon Creek Park is a 240-acre rolling wooded area which features a 30-acre lake for fishing. The cache is camo colored hidden near the entrance to park.

Among the features of the park are a surfaced hiking and nature trail that winds through cool wooded glens where wild flowers abound and wildlife can be observed. There are two well-equipped picnic areas overlooking the lake and a primitive picnic area farther back into the woods. There is a separate fitness trail up and down hills for those wishing more exercise. Cleverly designed wood signs throughout the park give directions to all facilities. The hiking-nature trail is 2.8 miles long and traverses both sides of the lake, crossing a footbridge at the north end. Wildlife that has been observed from the trail include deer, turkey, fox, beaver, muskrat, pheasant, red-winged blackbirds, red tailed hawks, eastern bluebird, great blue herons, egrets, wood ducks and other songbirds and waterfowl. The lake is stocked with trout, largemouth bass, bluegills, channel catfish and some northern pike.
