Geocache Description:

A trail designed to take you on a trip down memory lane and show you where some of the long forgotten pubs of the village once stood.

The local area also has a strong connection with the pathfinders and Alconbury itself has some nearly lost paths itself (some of them may be better off lost!!!) so lets combine past pubs and paths to help lead you around this lovely village.

The co-ordinates are for the car park of the Recreation field which is situated near the first and last clues as well as, conveniently, the first cache in the Alconbury Amble series.

The Club (A): N52 22.235' W000 15.930'
The "path" here is called Polecat Lane. Don't worry it doesn't smell like a pole cat, but how many cats can you see on poles when you look directly upwards? Answer A.

The Old Bell (B & C): N52 22.121' W000 15.591' This ex-public house is opposite the village post office. Post cards to send? Check out the post box.

B = Monday - Friday what hour is the post collected?
C = 5th letter of the post box number.

The White Horse (D): N52 21.930' W000 15.356' Nearby is one of the lesser known footpaths in the area. Look up the Lane and you'll see a white house. Was this the Old White Horse? 142D4.

The Crown (E): N52 22.057' W000 15.558' Now we are at the Old Crown. It was demolished and replaced with some weird semi-detached arrangement. Opposite is the village green which holds the annual fetes and fairs. Alconbury was give a charter for markets and fairs in 1E04.

The Red Lion (F & G): N52 21.929' W000 15.607' This one is also now a private house. aF0G4 (The a is not part of the coordinates).

The Mill (H): N52 22.019' W000 15.706' H = 2 digit number on telegraph pole, add them together then add this to number on green box.

The Globe (I & J): N52 22.004' W000 15.724' There was a pub here and a garage. Now it's a private house, something and car sales. Want to buy a car? I9J333.

You final destination is...
N52 GF.IEJ
W000 CB.HDA
