Geocache Description:

The cache is located near a very scenic location, so bring a camera and enjoy the surroundings, even if you don't find the cache.

To start the hunt, go to Waypoint 1 at N44 41.102 W76 23.777 . This location is one vertex (point) of an equilateral (equal-sided) triangle. There is a large boulder there with some writing and a date on it.

Using only the 4 digit year number, place a decimal point between the first and second digits (starting from the left) so that the resulting number has 3 decimal places. The result will be a number whose value is between 1.000 and 2.000 . This will be the number of minutes (yes, minutes!) to be added to each of the N and W minute portions of a phantom waypoint (whose coords are: N44 38.954 W76 21.797 ) to yield the coords of Waypoint 2.

Waypoint 2 is another vertex of the same equilateral triangle. Do not go to Waypoint 2 unless you are Superman. The cache is located at the third vertex of the triangle. There are two possible triangles; consider only the left triangle when looking from Waypoint 1 to Waypoint 2 .

The cache is on a slope, hidden between two big boulders with some smaller rocks for added cover and the boulders are within a triangle of 3 cedars. The camouflaged plastic container (about 5 inches in diameter and about 6 inches high) is just visible from a certain viewing angle.

When established the cache contained:

  • paint brush
  • watch band
  • red pen
  • scissors
  • red car
  • donkey
  • Ford tractor
  • white car
  • stop sign
  • compass ring
TWO THUMBS UP if you find the cache using only your GPS without resorting to computer programs such as MapSource.

PLEASE do not include spoilers in your logs. Logs with spoilers will be deleted immediately. If you believe there is any problem with the cache setup, please advise me privately by e-mail so that I may fix them if necessary.
