NANO CACHE cerca del Mercado Público de La Union. Es necesario llevar lápiz. / NANO CACHE near the Public Market in La Union. A pencil is needed.

El Antiguo Mercado Público de La Unión es una obra de estilo modernista del arquitecto catalán afincado en Cartagena, Víctor Beltrí Construido en 1907, acoge actualmente el Festival Internacional del Cante de Las Minas. Está formado por dos naves de tamaño desigual, con una gran semicúpula octogonal en la parte central. El exterior está realizado en piedra artificial, y la fachada cuenta con un reloj. La estructura interior es de hierro y vidrio. Fue concebido como plaza de abastos del pueblo de La Unión, que, a principios del s.XX vivía un momento de extraordinaria pujanza económica debido al auge de las minas de plomo y plata. Este edificio está declarado como Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC) [English] The Old Public Market in La Union is a modernist building of the Catalan architect based in Cartagena, Victor Beltrí. It was built in 1907. The International Festival del Cante de las Minas is celebrated hear every summer. It consists of two vessels of unequal size, with a large octagonal Half Dome in the middle. The exterior is made of artificial stone, and the facade has a clock. The interior structure is made of iron and glass. It was conceived as a market at the town of La Union, which in the early twentieth century had an extraordinary economic boom due to the rise of lead and silver mines. This building was declared of Cultural Interest (BIC)
