Evidence of Bendigo’s gold mining history is all around, none more so than in the form of dwellings created from the wealth that was generated during those underground operations.
From the opulence created, even by today’s standards, to general building styles of the period and including some relatively recent reproductions and renovations, this journey will take you past much evidence of those halcyon days!
Your journey will commence at “Cossackdale”, circa 1865, and although it can be made at night, we recommend daylight hours will reveal many more details of interest at each port of call!
At each wpt A to J you will find yourself close to one of the objects depicted in the accompanying images. Match that image number to this wpt letter to complete the following simple calculation which will reveal the location of a 500ml cylindrical container, hidden in a typical geo manner.
This vessel holds the usual log book, pen, a FTF token, and some trinkets for exchanging if required.
The subject matter in all images can be seen from kerb side or footpath and it will not be necessary to enter any private property.
Please be aware you could be sharing points with other folk at times, so some discretion may be needed.
Please note the following changes at your calculated GZ
1: Due to muggle intervention a 500ml cylindrical container is now
located approximately 20m away at the other end of the footbridge
2: A magnet with minimum 150mm reach is required for container removal.
