How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
Madison has a great park system. The variety and proximity of parks to neighborhoods provides access to free fun and green space for everyone. I am placing this cache to highlight this park and bring people to it to enjoy it, and maybe even take out a bag of trash (cache in, trash out) to keep the park beautiful for everyone!
Heritage Heights Park at 701 Meadowlark Drive is open from 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Please observe the hours the park is open. It is a neighborhood park with 6.6 acres. It has drinking water but no restroom. Facilities include a basketball court, tennis court, playground, two softball diamonds, a sun shelter that is non-reservable, and ice skating rink in the winter. The playground equipment has been replaced in either 2010 or 2011.
You do not have to enter the Heritage Heights Sanctuary to get the cache. Be careful as you approach GZ. Please replace as found.
I am a math teacher, so I like to provide extra credit opportunities at my caches. Four options are available here
1. Make a free throw basket at either hoop at the basketball court
2. Take a stroll through the Heritage Sanctuary 0.5 mile round trip, stay on the path please (protected area, no caching in here...we know this first hand)
3. In the winter, skate around the entire perimeter of the ice rink 3 times.
4. Climb up one side of the climbing structure and climb down on the other side.
Log any extra credit with pictures if possible please! Thank you, and have fun!
