Geocache Description:

The Cache is located in Parping, 45 min. by car from Kathmandu at the old caves in the mountain at the top of the mountain. It is a nice trip. At the place there are many steps up, and to the top it is recommended good shoes and may bee a stick. It is not climbing.

The whole city and Monasteries are built here because of the caves, where Guru Rinpoche for about 1.000 years ago was meditating in the caves on his walking from Pakistan and India to Nepal and Tibet. He started the Buddhism in Tibet, called the Vajrayana – Diamond way.

Inside the little meditation house is a cliff. On that was made a Ganesh, elephant sculpture in the stone. To the right of it is now a smaller Green Tara figure. People says, that is have grown out the cliff by it selves, not so long time ago. There are many prayer flags around at all the mountains. You can buy some and write your name and other names, and you get the blessings from the prayers on the flags, when the wind makes them move.
