Geocache Description:

Meet and greet potluck at the shelter in East Arbutus County Park.

Time to get reacquainted with old friends and meet new ones at Lake Arbutus.

Event will run from 11:30 til ??? Meet and Greet at 11:30, lunch at 12:30. We will provide punch to drink. I plan on making trash can turkey so if you don't want turkey you will have to bring your own meat. There are charcoal grills available but you will need to bring your own charcoal. Please bring your own plates, silverware and a dish to pass. When you log your attend please post what you will bring so we get a variety.

The park offers beach area, sand volley ball, a shelter, 2 playgrounds, hiking trails, 4 wheeler trails, fishing, boat landing, camping and of course geocaching!! There are presently more than 70 caches within 10 miles of the event and we hope to put out a few more.

The event is free of charge but the park does have an entrance fee of $3.00 for a daily pass (per vehicle) or $25 for an annual pass. Either pass will get you entrance to all Jackson County Parks. If you are camping in the park the entrance fee is included with the cost of the campsite. Camping is available. The rates vary depending on whether your site is lakeside, non-lakeside, electric or non-electric. Reservations can be made on line or via phone.

Feel free to bring trackables to trade or for discovery! Whether you just come for the event or if you come for the weekend there should be plenty to do to keep you busy.
Hatfield is planning on shooting off their Fourth of July fireworks from the dam at dusk so plan on staying and enjoy.

Hope to see you there!!
