Behind Sir Alexander Mackenzie school go to end of the board walk and take the trail to the left (not the trail that goes straight up the mountain). The trail you want goes to Schoolhouse Falls East; or Tippie's Falls, as locals call it.
Walk at slow steady pace up hill through changing forest ecosystems for about 30-45 min. You will eventually get to a fork in the trail; to the left brings you to the bottom of the falls (a short walk). The right fork continues up and brings you along a steep climb and scramble to the top of the falls. Continue until you reach the rope on the rock face leading to top of falls. Please be careful at top of falls as there are steep cliffs, but a great view of the Bella Coola Valley! Cache is to the right of the rope in a small crevice of the rock face, about half way up the rope climb. The cache is in a camo film canister. This cache was set up by the SAMS computer class. A great reason to get outside and learn! The terrain rating was rated a "3" by my students, but may be more of a "4" for many people; a testament to the toughness of Bella Coola kids!
