Wapehani Mountain Bike Park was the first mountain bike park in the state of Indiana. This Saturday morning, the Bloomington Geocachers will be helping the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department with invasive plant mapping and removal.
What to bring: If you have work gloves, please bring them with you. I would suggest bringing a hat to shade the sun and a water bottle to stay hydrated.
Attire: Please wear clothing appropriate to the weather that you don't mind getting a little dirty. We also request that everyone wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. NO SANDALS PERMITTED.
Directions: From downtown, take College Avenue south until it turns into Walnut St. Turn right on Winslow Road. This will eventually turn into Country Club, then Tapp Road. Turn right on Weimer Road. You’ll see a small wooden sign that says Wapehani Mountain Bike Park. It’s easy to miss, so pay close attention. You’ll turn left on Wapehani Road which will lead back to a small parking lot.
Parking: Wapehani's parking lot can hold approximately 10 cars max. Please park in the neighboring apartment complex at S Oakdale Drive and walk through the gate to the park. It's a short 200 foot to the parking lot walk.
Weather: This is an outdoor project. If the weather is uncooperative, most likely the project will cancel. For last minute information concerning weather, check the event cache page.
