Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

Geocache Description:

This geocache is hidden on Texas A&M's campus.

This cache is named for my 80-plus-year-old father, who some of my friends call by his middle name, Jacques.  Dad is not really sure what I see in this geocaching hobby, but he's agreed to give me his empty pill bottles to repurpose into caches. I've decided to start a series in honor of him and place some of these camoed pill bottles in locations that are linked to some part of Dad's life.

This particular cache has two links to Dad's life. The first is the nearby Texas A&M Alumni Center. You'd think this one would be obvious, but think again. That's because Dad's not an Aggie. However, Dad did live for a period of time in Midland, TX, which is where the Alumni Center's namesake, Clayton Williams, lives.

As for the second link -- it's Kyle Field. Why? Well, Dad actually did a portion of his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama and he has cheered for the Crimson Tide ever since. Throughout the discussions about A&M's move to the SEC, Dad would say to me, "Do they realize what they're getting into? They're going to get clobbered!" Well, only time will tell, but Saturdays in the fall will surely be interesting in my household for the foreseeable future!

Stealth may be necessary to get to this cache since you're on open ground the whole way and you're in plain view of the President's Residence.

--- I wanted to add a footnote to this cache following Texas A&M's upset of Alabama on November 10, 2012 during their first season in the SEC. Dad was gobsmacked but impressed by the Aggies' victory and is now reconsidering his initial thoughts about their decision to join the SEC. He's now looking forward to future football games, especially when Alabama comes to Kyle Field in 2013.
