Geocache Description:

In the park of Jaungulbene manor interesting object called "Gate of devil" is located. From the memory of inhabitants of Jaungulbene there was a building near "Gate of devil". This building was occupied by a well-paid man who was restricted to wash, to change clothes, to shawe or to comb his hair. Only responsibility of this "devil" was to open and close the gate when baron or his guests came over. To make scene more dramatic, stone wall near building was decorated with many kinds of figures and dragons. There are rumors that baron had problems to hire "devils" because latvian peasants wasn't happy to live in dirt for a long time.
