The 1st in a series of caches set for the 2012 UK Mega Event at Cartmel, Cumbria on a circular tour of The Lyth Valley. Some of the paths and tracks can be overgrown in Summer and muddy after rain so wellies or boots are recommended. A copy of the apppropriate OS Map is recommended to enable you to locate and find all the paths and tracks to enable you to complete your route. Following a GPS'r arrow is not recommendad as a navigational aid.
From the starting point at the recommended parking take the pathway up to a Rock Oven where you should turn SW to pick up the cache . Continue down into Row and take the roadway through the buildings until you reach a footpath sign directing you South across the fields to the Wood at Township Plantation. Inside the wood turn back North to the the next cache No 2. Congratulations to Stompy&Stampy on their FTF particularly as they revisited the cache a second time and still managed a FTF.
