Geocache Description:

This is the second cache that is highlighting huge saws that were used in the lumber industry. This one is also a field solve puzzle, everything you need is right on the plaque. These puzzles are easy, but I want to take you to see something that is interesting to see and read about.

Cache is not at posted coords. The coords take you to the plaque entitled "The Big Saw" that will provide you with the information to solve the puzzle. You will need to drive a short distance to locate the cache.  Parking is readily available at both locations.

*****Please be very careful when retrieving the container. Make sure you have a good grasp of it or it will fall into the abyss. Also be careful when you put it back that it is securely attached or the same thing will happen.  Cache is a micro, with no room for any SWAG or trackables. Bring your own pen/pencil.

a)  On what river was the saw located?  Count the number of letters of the river. The second digit of that number = a

b)  Start with the number of square feet of lumber one log could provide and the year the saw was manufactured. Add those two figures together.  With that number, multiply the first two digits together and add the third digit to that number. The second digit of that number  = b

c)  There is a word that is misspelled on the plaque.  How many letters are in the misspelled version?  That number = c

d)  What year was the saw retired?  Take the second and third digit of that number and multiply. The last digit of that number = d

e)  How many letters would be the correct spelling of the misspelled word on the plaque?   On what line is the misspelled word? (Don't count the title as a line.) Take the number of letters of the correctly spelled word and divide it by the line number where the word appears.  That number = e

f) Count the number of companies mentioned by name and the number of states mentioned.  Add those two numbers together. Find the type of tree the logs were and count the number of letters in the second word of that type.  Add that number to the number of companies and states you counted. The total of those three pieces of information = f

g)  What length of logs could the saw cut?  Multiply those two digits together.
The last digit of that answer = g
