About Sidetracked: We have Motorway Mayhem. We have A-Road Anarchy. But what about public transport users? SideTracked Caches are intended to provide quick Cache-and-dashes at Train Stations.
I wanted to place this cache as there's a slight dearth of caches in Watford and also this great little branch line deserves to be recognized in Geocaching.
This small cache is outside the station boundary and contains room for a few small swaps and trackables.
The St. Albans Abbey branch line from Watford Junction was first opened in 1858, though it originally only had two intermediate stations at Bricket Wood and Park Street.
Callowland station was opened in 1910, though it’s name was soon changed to Watford North. The station was originally built to serve the workers of various manufacturing companies that were springing up in the area. However the station came into it’s own in the 1930s when the fields around the station became a huge housing estate.
Despite being over 100 years old, Watford North station is still going strong carrying almost 100,000 passengers a year (so stealth is likely to be needed when finding this cache - it's also on a pretty busy road – so the obvious hint will help with stealthy retrieval).
This is the first SideTracked cache along the Abbey Line, I may do some more when I’m next back in Watford, or maybe someone would like to take up the challenge further down the line.

Please make sure it's rehidden out of sight.
