 Le Gorge di San Gervasio
sono collocate tra i paesi di Cesana e Clavière nel punto nel quale il vallone della Dora Piccola si restringe progressivamente fra i versanti di Sagnalonga e dello Chaberton sino a formare un'incisione profonda e spettacolare, una gola in determinati tratti profonda più di 90 metri.
Le Gorge sono frutto del modellamento operato in centinaia di migliaia di anni dall’erosione delle frane e dei ghiacciai e, dopo il ritiro di quest’ultimi, appunto dal torrente Piccola Dora che nasce vicino al Colle di Monginevro. Questo bellissimo luogo fa parte dei "Monti nati dal Mare", un progetto che intende tutelare e valorizzare la zona dell'Alta Val Susa, comprensiva del Massiccio dello Chenaillet, dei Monti della Luna e del Monte Chaberton, luoghi che sono la spettacolare testimonianza di un ambiente paleo-geografico e un frammento dell'antico oceano prealpino, un lembo del suo fondale che conserva rocce e fossili unici nell'intero arco alpino. La Via Ferrata del Bunker: Inizia da una piccola piazzola in cemento armato sul sentiero che da Claviere scende nelle gorge e si alza immediatamente verso lo spigolo della parete per poi scorrere all'interno delle gole attraversate dal torrente . Dopo un traverso strapiombante si giunge ad una lunga scala militare (non proprio in ottime condizioni) che porta all'ingresso del vecchio Bunker, percorrendo il quale si giunge nuovamente sul sentiero dall'altro lato della collina. La Via ferrata è abbastanza corta (300 m, ca. 45 min.) ma piuttosto esposta nella parte centrale del percorso e viene considerata come un primo approccio a questo tipo di escursionismo, una prova generale delle proprie capacità e una personale verifica nell’esposizione al vuoto e agli strapiombi. Sicuramente è un modo diverso ed interessante di visitare le Gorge di San Gervasio. Alla fine delle Via Ferrata potete scegliere di rientrare percorrendo una delle tre opzioni descritte sotto per l'accesso o in alternativa percorrendo l'altro ponte tibetano (lungo 90 m ed alto altrettanto) che avrete sicuramente visto all'andata e che vi porterà direttamente al parcheggio.
Accesso: In auto sulla Strada Statale 24 del Monginevro da Cesana a Claviere e parcheggiare nella zona di sosta sulla sinistra al WP "Parking". Qui siete in prossimità del punto più alto delle gorge e se vi affacciate potete già vedere la parete percorsa dalla ferrata ed in alto l'ingresso del bunker.
Da qui avete tre possibilità:
1) La più veloce è quella su sentiero sulla destra (sguardo rivolto verso le gorge). Passando dal reference point "approccio" in prossimità degli impianti di skilift aggirate la collina e scenendo il sentiero che porta nelle gorge arrivate al punto di partenza della ferrata al waypoint "trailhead".
2) La seconda invece è più lunga ma sicuramente la più appagante da un punto di vista naturalistico: Sempre sguardo verso le gorge, alla vostra sinistra vedrete la chiesetta di San Gervasio collocata su di una piccola collina, dietro alla quale parte il sentiero che in 12 minuti vi porta giù all'interno delle gorge. Qui potrete dirigervi verso il punto di partenza della ferrata percorrendo il bellissimo sentiero attrezzato con passerelle lungo il torrente.
3) La terza decisamente più avventurosa è quella di passare sul Ponte Tibetano più lungo del mondo che dopo aver percorso più di 460 metri in sospeso all'interno delle gorge vi porterà a poche decine di metri dal punto di partenza della ferrata. Proprio in prossimità al parcheggio vedrete il punto d'informazioni (percorso a pagamento / solo in estate / possibilità di noleggio imbragatura). La strada per arrivare alla partenza del ponte tibetano, è uguale a quella della opzione 2).
Il Cache: E' un contenitore micro, PETling di 15 cm di lunghezza.
Dato che questa breve ferrata non offre pianori o punti simili per fare una sosta, il cache è posizionato nella parte finale del percorso, a pochi metri dalla scalinata finale che porta nel bunker.
Purtroppo il segnale gps non è mai andato oltre ad una precisione di +/- 9 m e pertanto sarebbe opportuno tenere conto delle foto spoiler. In fase di ricerca restare assolutamente assicurati!
Attrezzatura: Imbragatura, dissipatore d’energia, casco, calzature adeguate, guanti per chi vuole.
Tra via ferrata, ponte tibetano, bunker e passeggiata nelle gorge sarà sicuramente una bella giornata outdoor! Buon divertimento!
 The Gorge of San Gervasio
are located between the villages of Cesana and Claviere in a spot where the valley of the Dora Piccola tapering between the slopes of Sagnalonga and Chaberton forms a deep and spectacular canyon, which is more than 90 meters.
The Gorge is the result of modeling work of the erosion due to landslides and glaciers over hundreds of thousands of years, and after just by the river Dora Piccola which springs near the Col de Montgenevre. This beautiful place is part of the "Mountains born from the Sea", a project that aims to protect and enhance the area of Alta Val Susa, including the Massif of Chenaillet, Monti della Luna and Mount Chaberton, places that are spectacular testimony of a paleo-geographic environment and a fragment of the ocean foothills, the hem of her bottom that keeps rocks and fossils unique in the entire Alpine region. The Via Ferrata of the Bunker: Starts from a small concrete pad on the path that goes down into the gorge from Claviere. It rises immediately to the edge of the wall then scrolls through the gorges and after a steep traverse it leads to a long military staircase (not really in proper condition) that will bring you to the entrance of the old Bunker, along which you'll get back on the path on the other side of the hill. The Via Ferrata is quite short (300 m, approx. 45 min.) but rather exposed in the central part of the course and is considered as a first approach to this type of mountaineering, in order to verify the own abilities and to treat with exposition and overhangs. Surely it is a unusual and interesting way to visit the Gorges of San Gervasio. At the end of the Via Ferrata for returning to the car you may chose one of the 3 possibilities for the the way there, which are described below or alternatively by crossing the suspension bridge (90 m long and 90 meters high) which starts above the Via Ferrata and which will lead you directly to the parking lot.
Access: Drive on Highway SS 24 del Monginevro from Cesana to Claviere and leave the car in the parking area on the left at WP "Parking". Here you are close to the highest point overlooking the gorges and you can already see the wall traversed by the Vvia ferrata and up the entrance of the bunker.
From here you have three choices:
1) The fastest is on the path on the right (looking towards the gorge). Moving towards the reference point "approach" you'll pass under the ski lift and turning around the hill the descending path leading inside the gorge you'll arrive the start of the ferrata at the waypoint "trailhead."
2) The second one is longer but certainly the most beautiful from a naturalistic point of view: Looking towards the gorge, on your left you will see the little church of San Gervasio, located on a small hill. On it's back starts path that within 12 minutes takes you down into the gorge. Here you can head to the starting point of the via ferrata along the beautiful trail along the river equipped with walkways.
3) The most adventurous choice is to approach via the World's longest Tibetan bridge and after walking for more than 460 meters suspended inside the gorge, you will arrive near the starting point of the via ferrata . Right next to the parking lot you will see the information point (the tibetan bridge is against payment / only during summer / equipment to rent). The way to get to the departure of the Tibetan bridge, is the same as the one of option 2).
The Cache: Is a micro container, Petling of 15 cm in length.
As this short ferrata offers no plateaus or similar points to take a break, the cache is located at the end of the trail, a few meters from the final stairway that leads to the bunker.
Unfortunately, the GPS signal never went over to an accuracy of + / - 9 m and therefore it would be appropriate to take a look at the spoiler pictures. During the research your climbing harness has to remain fixed to the steel rope.
Equipment:Harness, energy-absorbing lanyard, helmet, proper footwear, gloves if you want.

 Die San Gervasio Schluchten
liegen zwischen den Ortschaften Cesana und Claviere an der Stelle, wo das Tal der Kleinen Dora zwischen den Hängen des Sagnalonga und Chaberton immer enger wird bis es ein tiefer, spektakulärer Einschnitt ist, eine in bestimmten Abschnitten mehr als 90 Meter tiefe Schlucht.
Die Schlucht ist das Ergebnis der durch Erosion erfolgte Modellierung des Gesteins in Hunderttausenden durch Erdrutsche und Gletscher, und zuletzt nach dem Rückzug dieser Gletscher, durch den Fluss Piccola Dora, welcher in der Nähe des Col de Montgenevre entspringt. Dieser wunderschöne Ort ist Teil der "Aus dem Meer geborenen Berge", ein Projekt zum Schutz und zur Aufwertung der Alta Val Susa, einschließlich des Massif des Chenaillet, Monti della Luna und des Monte Chaberton. Diese Schlucht ist ein spektakulärer Beweis einer Paläo-geographische Umgebung, ein Fragment des antiken Voralpinen Ozeans bzw. einer seiner damaligen Ausläufer der in seinem Boden, einzigartig im gesamten Alpenraum einzigartige Gesteine und Fossilien beherbergt.
Ein ziemlich besondere Art und Weise, diese Schlucht von San Gervasio zu erkunden ist ...
Die Via Ferrata des Bunkers: Diese beginnt von einem Betonsockel auf dem Weg der von Claviere nach unten in die Schlucht führt und steigt sofort an den Rand, umkurvt den Fels um dann entlang der Steilwand durch die Schlucht durch welche der Bach fliesst exponiert zu verlaufen. Nach einer Querung am steilen Abhang gelangt man an einen alten militärischen Eisensteig (nicht wirklich in gutem Zustand), welcher hoch zum Eingang des alten Bunker führt. Durch diesen gelangt man wieder auf den Wanderweg auf der anderen Seite des Hügels. Die Via Ferrata ist recht kurz (300 m, ca. 45 min.) aber im zentralen Teil sehr exponiert und wird daher als sehr gute erste Annäherung an diese Art des Bergsports gesehen, durch welche jeder für sich selbst verifizieren kann wie ihm die starke Exposition und Überhänge liegen. Sicherlich ist es eine etwas andere und sehr interessant Art, die Schlucht von San Gervasio zu erkunden. Rückweg entsprechend einem der drei unten beschriebenen Zustiege oder alternativ über die 90 m lange und 90 m hohe Hängebrücke die wenige Meter oberhalb des Beginns der Via Ferrata direkt über die Schlucht hinweg zum Parkplatz zurück führt.
Zugang: Mit dem Auto die Bundesstrasse SS24 del Monginevro von Cesana nach Claviere um auf dem Parkplatz auf der linken Seite bei dem WP "Parking" parken. Hier habt iht sofort einen Blick auf die höchste Stelle der Schlucht und die Wand an welcher die Ferrata verläuft, sowie oben den Eingang des Bunkers.
Von hier aus habt Ihr nun drei Möglichkeiten:
1) Die schnellste ist auf dem Weg zur rechten Seite (mit Blick zur Schlucht) in Richtung WP "approccio - approach" zu gehen um dann unter den Skiliften den Hügel zu umgehen und dem Weg hinab in die Schlucht zu folgen bis zum Beginn desKlettersteig am WP "Trailhead".
2) Die zweite ist etwas länger, aber sicherlich einer naturalistischen Sicht auch schöner: Auf der linken Seite (immer mit Blick zur Schlucht) seht Iht in etwas Entfernung die kleine Kirche von San Gervasio, auf einem kleinen Hügel. Genau dahinter beginnt ein Wanderweg, der Euch in 12 Minuten hinunter in die Schlucht führt. Hier geht Ihr dann tief in der Schlucht auf Holzgehwegen entlang des Flusses in Richtung WP "trailhead".
3) Die dritte Möglichkeit ist die wohl abenteurlichste und zwar über dieLängste Tibetanische Brücke der Welt gelangt Ihr nach mehr als 460 Metern durch das Innere der Schlucht in einer Höhe von rd 30 Metern in die Nähe der Via Ferrata. Direkt am Parkplatz findet Ihr einen Informationsstand (Brücke ist gegen Bezahlung / nur im Sommer / Ausrüstung kann gemietet werden). Der Weg, um zum Anfang der Brücke zu gelangen entspricht jenem der Option 2).
Cache: Ist Micro, ein PETling von 15 cm Länge
Da dieser sehr kurze Klettersteig keine Plateaus oder ähnliche für eine Pause geeignete Stellen bietet, befindet sich der Cache auf dem letzten Teil, wenige Meter vor dem finalen Steig, der hinauf zum Bunker führt.
Leider kam ich beim Verstecken nicht über eine Genauigkeit des GPS-Signals von +/- 9 m hinaus; daher wäre es sinnvoll, die Spoilerbilder zu betrachten. Während der Suche die Sicherung nicht ablegen!
Ausstattung: Klettergurt, Klettersteigset mit Bandfalldämpfersystem, Helm, geeignetes Schuhwerk, optional Handschuhe
Mit dieser Via Ferrata, dem Bunker,der Tibetanische Brücke, und dem Spaziergang durch die Schlucht ist dies sicher ein schöner Outdoor-Tag! Viel Spaß dabei!
