Make Mine a Half! (Oxford Half Marathon day) Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Simply Paul: A compact event (I sat there thinking 'and I had a bath for this?') but it was nice to have a seat after a half which went badly wrong. My past PB of 1:58:02 was in no danger as my cold meant I struggled to finish in 2:18:16. Not my finest hour! £50 raised for The Stroke Association though, so it's all good. Thanks to everyone(!) who attended on a Sunday evening. Extra thanks to Team Hippo for taking another Geolympix torch off me. Hope to see a larger turn-out at my next event [:P]

Archiving this now as everyone who was here has logged and there are no travel items booked in still. Cheers!

Geocache Description:

Sunday October the 14th is the day of the Oxford Half Marathon which I'll be running in, so how better to relax afterwards than walking off some aches by caching (and doing some maintanance!) and then a nice sit down in a 'popular caching pub' close to the course afterwards? I hope you'll join me!

Where: The Longwall, Oxford Business Park, Garsington Rd, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX4 2JT - close to the Mini factory. Free parking!
When: From 5pm on Sunday October 14th 2012.
Who: All cachers welcome! Children 'til 9pm (if we've not packed up by then; I will be pretty tired after running 13 miles. See me profile for more info) and dogs outside (except Assistance Dogs) - You don't have to be interested in the Oxford Half. Just come for a drink and a geo-natter. New to caching or cache events? You're especially welcome!
Why: Because I'll want a rest, this is a welcoming pub and I'll have some Geolympix bits to clear out too.
How: Cycle? Run? ;) Or grab any bus which stops near the Mini Factory; it's just across the road from here. For people coming with a car, there's lots of free parking here.
What: Just a friendly, random cache meet. Oxford doesn't seem to have too many so it'll be a nice chance to catch up with fellow local (and not so local) cachers. I'll also be available to give clues to Oxford Needs Another Nano... :D
Which: This is just getting silly now.
