Town Square Gazebo
How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
This is the second of seven caches I've hidden in the New Hartford area. Permission was granted by the mayor and the city clerk in the summer of 2012.
In 2008, New Hartford was hit by an F5 tornado and a catastrophic flood. The community started "The New Hartford FEMA Lot Restoration" to plant gardens and beautify their town. They started with no funds and the town has been raising money ever since. There is a community goal chart here, so you can see how much money has been raised so far. The gazebo can be reserved at no cost. I must say that the gazebo has the best chairs I've sat in in a town park. All of the work maintaining the city gardens are done by volunteers. Enjoy!
BYOP and there is a little green for the FTF. The park is wheel chair accessible, but depending on the ground moisture and snow the cache may not be. The rating should ramain the same in the winter, unless there are feet of snow!!! Congrats to Team Zinger for the FTF
