Constantin Tanase (July 5, 1880 – August 29, 1945), one of the greatest Romanian actors and writers for stage - see the gallery for more photos of him.
Born in a modest family, he went to a high school in Vaslui, being rejected from the military school. Later on he became a tutor in Cursesti village. Attracted by stage he organized a show in the courtyard of a high school in Vaslui, acting as August Prostul (Pacala sort of, a popular Romanian character).
Enrolled in the military service he came to Bucharest in 1900. There he started to attend The National Theater shows having the opportunity to see famous Romanian actors such as C.I. Nottara, P. Liciu or A. Romanescu. In 1902 he is admitted at the Romanian Art College (Conservatorul Roman) and started his famous acting career.
Between 1922 - 1945 Constantin Tanase lived on 10 Putul cu Plopi str., Bucharest, where the cache is placed.
